Who I Work With

I work with clients in individual, family, and couples therapy.
I see clients from a wide range of ages, from children to the elderly.
I welcome working with clients of all ethnic backgrounds and genders. As a white female therapist, I acknowledge that I am not an expert in all cultural backgrounds, but I do my best to be culturally competent and aware (including my educational background in Ethnic Studies).
I am also competent to work with Men's issues.

LGBTQIA Affirmative Therapist

I am passionate about helping LGBTQIA clients, whether or not gender identity is the primary reason you are seeking treatment. It is important to me that all my clients feel welcomed, accepted, and affirmed.

Adults

Being an adult is not easy.  Work stress, family issues, parenting difficulties, depression, anxiety, life expectations, and relationship difficulties are just a few of the struggles we face as adults.

Young Adults

Young adulthood is a unique time in one's life. There are many pressures during this time of big transitions including school, work, money, planning for the future, managing expectations, relationships, and even existential/meaning of life struggles.

Adolescents

I have a lot of experience working with teenagers. It is a time of big transitions and striving for more independence. The balance of school, parents, expectations, friends/peers, relationships, bullying, self-esteem, and existential/meaning of life issues, can be a lot to handle at times.

Children

I also work with children and their families. Children can struggle too, but may have a hard time verbalizing what is wrong. Parents and teachers might start to notice a child is not their usual self at school, home, or interacting with other kids or siblings. Therapy is a great place to help understand what may be going on with a child and strategize ways to help them. I most often use play therapy with children, as they express themselves through play.

How I Work

I work collaboratively with my clients. Let me know what you are wanting to be different in your life and we can work together to help you get there.

I use a variety of approaches in my work with clients and adapt my style to meet the needs of each client I see.
